Synthesis and Transformation 3.1 (Index numbers 1 to 8 to comment)

Look at the following responses to Synthesis and Transformation. How many marks would you award for each response and why? What is the correct answer?

1. Muthu cannot buy the medicine if he does not have a doctor's prescription. 
Pupil A: Without the doctor's prescription, Muthu cannot buy the medicine. 

Pupil B: Without having the doctor's prescription, Muthu cannot buy the medicine.

  1. I would give pupil A 2 full marks as it is correct.There are not spellinbh,grammer or pountion error.But for pupil B i would give a 1 or 0 mark (not very sure) because of the having.I think the correct answer is: Without the doctor's prescription, Muthu cannot buy the medice.

  2. 1]I would give pupil A 2 marks as the meaning is still the same.For pupil B,I would give 0 marks as the meaning is changed.If he or she did not write the 'having",it will be full marks.

  5. Both Pupil A and B would get 2 marks because the sentences' meaning did not change after the sentence have a 'having'.

  6. I think Pupil a answer will be given 1 or 0 mark because it is missing the word having which is 'have in the root form'.Pupil's b answer would be given 2 marks as it has all the points.

  7. Both Pupil A and B would get 2 marks because both the answer's have the same meaning as the question.
