Student A's Experiment (Index number 1 to 9 to comment)

Aim:
To find out whether water is necessary for photosynthesis.

Hypothesis:
Water is necessary for photosynthesis.

Materials needed:
1.   2 identical plants, A and B.
2.   Water
3.   Iodine solution

Procedure:
1.   Destarch plants by placing both plants in dark cupboard for 24 to 48 hours.
2.   Water one of the plants occasionally.
3.   Leave both plants in sunlight.
4.   After a few days, check the plants to see whether water is necessary.

22 comments:

  1. The materials needed that says "iodine solution" is needed but student A forgot to put Dropper in the Materials Needed.
The procedure says that water one of the plants occasionally but we would be mistaken that we must water one plant occasionally and the other plant hourly or daily. The last procedure says that "After a few days, check the plants to see whether water is necessary."But, we cannot talk to the plant if the had enough water.

  2. Student A is wrong because he did not have the Tripod stand, alcohol, dropper, 2 identical beakers, 2 identical whte tiles, forcep, wire gauze and the gas burner.

For the procedure, he did wrongly.
The steps for the procedure is
    1) destarch the plant by putting them in a dark cupboard for 24-48 hours.
    2) Water 1 pant only.
3)Leave the plants in the sunlight for 3 days.
4)Atfer 3 days, pluck out one leaf from each plant.
5)Put both leaves into a beaker of boiling water and take the leaves out went it turns soft.
6)After that put both leaves into warm alcohol and the the leaves out went it loses its colour.
7)finally, put both leaves onto the white tiles and drop iodine solution and check whether it have starch( leaf turns dark blue).

  3. materials should have 1. 2 identical potted plants 2. a gas burner 3.a tripod stand 4.wire gauze 5. water 6.2 beakers 7.2 white tiles 8.idoine solution 9.dropper step1 :put both the potted of plants in a cupboard for 24 hours -48 hours. step2:take out the plants after 24 -48 hours and water 1 pot of plant every day for 3 days and the other pot of plant dont water it for 3 days. step 3: pluck each leaf from each plant step4 :put the leaves into a beaker of hot water for 30 seconds step 5:take out the leaves and put them in warm alcohol to remove the chlorophyll. step6 :put the leaves in warm water to soften it. step7:put the leaves in a white tile and drop iodine solution on the leaves . dong wang (4)

    2. Dong Wang has the right procedures.

  4. For student A's procedure, step two was very confusing because we did not know water one plant occasionally so the other plant must be watered or not.

  5. The aim and the hypotesis is correct. The materials need is not complete. The examples are wire guaze, white tiles, alcohol, beaker, gas burner, tripod stand, forceps .The procedues are incomplete as many steps are not there and are not accurate. The first step is complete and correct. The second step is not accurate as occationaly is how long and what about another set up.The correct step for step 2 is water one of the plant in the one of the set up.Step 3 is after 12 to 24 hours take the plant out and put near sunlight for about 24 to 36 hours. After this step we pluck leave from each of the leaves from the differnt set up.Completing we will test for starch. Before we test we boil each of the leaves.Than we test for starch.Than we will see if water is nesscary for photosynthesis.

  6. The aim and the hypothesis are correct.
    The materials needed are:wire gauze,beaker,dropper,forceps,tripod stand,gas burner,white tiles,alcohol.
    The procudures are:
    1st:The answer is correct.
    2nd:Water 1 one 3-4 day.
3rd:After 10-24 hours, place the plant near a window to get sunlight for about 2-3 days
4th:Pluck a leaf from each plant.
5th:Boil the leaves in a beaker of hot water.
6th:we will know if the photosynthesis process need water

  7. the aim and hypothesis are okay. The materials needed miss something.if you water the plant occasionally how about the other one. you no need to check if water is nesscary.you miss out something between 3 to 4. that person must add more details .

  8. Materials: student A should should write tripot stand,gas burner,2 beakers,wire gauze,dropper,alcohol,2 indentical plant,iodine solution,2 white tiles.

    procedure:
    1. Put both plants in a dark place to destarch it for about 2-3 days.
2.take out the plant from the dark cardboard.
3.water plant A but dont water plant B and do that for about 1 week.
    4. pluck out one of the leaves from each plant
5.place each leaf in the beaker of boiling water for 30 seconds.
6.put each leaf into a beaker of warm alchohol until the colour changes.
7.put it into a beaker of water to soften it.
8.place it onto the white tile.
    9.then put iodine solution.

  9. The aim and the hypothesis are both correct. The materials required are not included inside such as gas burner, dropper and many others. The procedure for step 1 is correct. For step 2,the person did not explain properly like occasionally. Is it for 1 month? If water one of the plant then what would happen to the other one?Step 3 is incorrect as if you place one pot in the sunlight it makes no difference. For step 4, how do you check?

  11. 1)he forgot about the tripod, alcohol, dropper, 2 identical beakers, white tiles, gas burner, forcep, wire gauzde

    2) Destarch plants by placing both plants in dark cupboard for 24 to 48 hours.
    3)water one plant only
    4)leave the plant 3 days
    To Be Continued

  12. Forgot to mention dropper. The procedure is wrong. The part where the student stated:"Water one of the plants occasionally." and
"After a few days, check the plants to see whether water is necessary." were not specific. Someone would think that :"Water one of the plants occasionally." means to water one plant constantly and the other plant once a week or so."After a few days, check the plants to see whether water isnecessary." is not specific because the student did not mention the hot water and the warm alchohol. 6)put each leaf in a beaker of boiling water to kill and soften the leaf
7)put each leaf in a warm alcohol to make the leaf lose its colour
8)put the iodine solution on the leaf
