Maths Challenging Sums (2)

1. Mei Shan bought 69 kg of sugar. She packed an equal amount of sugar into 8 bags and had 4 kg of sugar left. What is the mass of sugar in each bag? Express your answer as a decimal correct to 1 decimal place. (3m)

2. A container holding liquid X weighs 4.95 kg altogether. The same container holding liquid Y
weighs 8.95 kg altogether. Liquid Y weighs twice as heavy as liquid X. Find the weight of the
empty container. (4m)

3. The total mass of 2 bags of rice and a packet of sugar is 12.25 kg.  The total mass of a bag of rice and 2 packets of sugar is 8 kg.  What is the mass of a packet of sugar? (4m)

  13. a....how come q2 say that liquid Y is twice the weight as liquid X?Doesn't make any sense.X is 4.95kg and Y is 8.95kg.This makes my head big!Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

    still makes my head big
    i only see that the last statement then say how heavy is the container.i think its typo error
    Mdn Toh must be weak in her typing.

    Not enough clues.

    Must have indicate whether there is the container or not.So sorry about leaving q2 blank.
    But got try lah!
    At least got statments mah.
