Untitled by Ivan

I was one of those who would lose things very easily and when I lost something, I would go back to the place and searched high and low for it.

One day, while I was going home after work, I noticed the same evil-looking man who had been following me since I had lost my wallet. Only then did I know that it was not a coincidence. He was holding a black bulky briefcase and had a grin that never failed to send shivers down my spine. Without looking, I took a wrong turn and found myself in a dark alley and noticing that he was still following me, I continued walking.

"Well! There's no stopping now," I said to myself.

"Hey you there! Come here! Don't worry, I won't hurt you!" he said in a loud booming voice.

I started to feel scared and ignored him. I began to walk faster without taking a second glance at him, thinking whether I should call the police. I decided not to as he was not harming me in any way.

"Come here! I have your wallet that you lost two days ago!" he shouted, chasing after me.

On hearing that, I slowed down and decided if i should believe in what he claimed. I decided not to as it was a little too risky for me as I was a weak defenseless lady. Coming towards a dead end, I looked back and the man's grin began to grow wider and wider. A dark haze surrounded me. He started opening his briefcase.

"Is there something inside that he was going to use to stab me?" I questioned myself, hoping he would disappear.

"Aaaah! Don't hurt me please! I'm begging you! I'll give you all I have," I pleaded with fear.

"What? I'm not going to hurt you,"he said in a surprised tone.

He gave me my wallet. My eyes were filled with joy. My money and ATM cars were still inside.

"Thank you so much! I thought I had lost it for good!" I said, filled with gratitude.

From that day on, I learnt to be more careful and not to judge a person just by his looks.
