a) How many footballs did he buy?
b) How much did he spend on basketballs?
3. Dona had $180 more than Wei Kang. Dona spent 1/2 her money and Wei Kang spent 1/5 of his money. In the end, Dona and Wei Kang had the same amount of money left. Find the amount of money Wei Kang had at first.
The questions looks difficult but they are actually very easy to solve.Question 2 turned out to be a ratio question and we didn't notice. We think this activity was very fun like the previous ones.
ReplyDeleteWe hope to do this again.
DeleteWe forgot to mention that question 2 was also a set question:)
DeleteQ2 We did not know how to do at first. We did not use the ration method
ReplyDeleteQirah,Linus and Hao Yin,you have done very well and have use the method that Mrs Low taught you.
ReplyDeleteWe used the branching method for Q1, Q2:ratio and Q3: model
ReplyDeleteWe hope to do this again.
Chin Hon, Fam Ling, Hoe Sheng, you have done well for the Math question. You had used the method Mrs Low taught you. Very well.
ReplyDeleteWeiTing, Misha and Natalie
ReplyDeleteFor your method, how can you prove that $180 is 6 units ? I thinkn that you should not split the work in this way as not everyone gets the chance to solve the problem, I advised you split in this way: Everybody types one part, but everone contributes. :)
Oh,okay,we will take your advice :)
DeleteSo how did you do it then?
WT,M,N
Yap Zi Yang ,Isaiah Khoo and Jerron Lim,you have done Q3 wrongly. You should do the question again but good try :).
ReplyDeleteTo: Jonathan, Bryan and Ivan
ReplyDeleteThey asked for the thinking process, not for how you felt about the question. But the method was great though! :)
In summary, for those doing Q1, many of your group got this question correct. For those of you who got wrong,do not be despondent and try over the question again. Most of the mistakes are due to carelessness. Well Done and Good Job!
ReplyDeleteGood try, Wei Ting, Misha and Natalie. 180 is supposed to be 3u not 6u.In this method, you must multiply your final answer by 2.
ReplyDeleteWell Done,Pei Ying,Wei Kang and Conrad. You have done an awesome job.
ReplyDeleteWe used the branching method for Q1,the NVT method for Q2 and equal fractions for Q3.
ReplyDeleteCalvin Dai, Avin Chan, Faaizah, you have done well for the Math question. You made full use of the method. Good!
ReplyDeleteWell done Yong XIang, Tammy and Zhi En. You got it correct!
ReplyDeleteQuestion 2: At first, we did not know it was a ratio question but after seeing how Mdm Toh had gone through, we knew it was a ratio question.
ReplyDeletewe did not get the answer correct because we thought that we were supposed to find the total muffins sold. we found the total number of muffins sold. this question is quite confusing
ReplyDeleteQuestion 3 can be used with two methods. I hope we can do this again. It is very fun and exciting.thanks
ReplyDeleteQuestion 2 is about ratio but we could not figure it out when we first did the question.
ReplyDeleteThe second question was ratio in disguise.A sentence can change the understanding of the question.Anyways, well done...
ReplyDeleteThe question that was assigned to us was very confusing. We had a hard time solving the question. For question 1,it is the branching method, for question 2,is ratio while question 3 is the square and circle model.Eventually,we understand more when Mdm toh explains.
ReplyDeletefor q1,we think it was easy with Max's help.
ReplyDeleteIt was not very challenging as it was done with Mdm Toh's help.
Question 1 is quite tircky but we are able to solve it without any help. Many people who were assigned this question were able to solve it.
ReplyDeleteBenedict was very helpful and urging us not to give up.
ReplyDeleteHui ting is also very helpful as she helped out on difficult questions
Owen is also like Hui Ting.He always help us to solve difficult questions (and I mean very very very difficult)
But anyway,we stil cannot get any questions right.
Bye Bye!
Most of them got the correct answer for question 3. We think that they used the square and circle method. We are impressed who have done question 3 correctly.
ReplyDeleteDawn,Yi Liang,Naqib think that Q2 is really hard.Very Good!
ReplyDeleteJustin,Zhen Quang and Junyang, you guys had done a very well done job in answering Q1. Honestly, we had some problems in answering this question. That means that you guys could analyse questions like question 1 very well.
