FILA Chart

FACTS
1)      Crisis: S’pore is threatened with a food shortage
2)      Friendly neighbours would not be able to supply enough food for us
3)      Importing food is getting more expensive
4)      We have an empty plot of land with fertile soil (5PPS soccer fields)
5) Singaporeans are too urbanized and lack skills. They don’t know what to do.
IDEAS

1)      Natural Disaster (Global, in our neighbouring countries)
Food and water contamination due to Excessively severe pollution/
Over-population (due to?)


2)      They are facing the same problem and they want to feed their own people first
Poor international relationships
3)      Inflation, supplies are low, but demand still stays the same or has risen
4)      Demolished buildings, land was left unused, earmarked by the government for emergency use, the land has not been developed for one reason or another
5)   Relying too much on technology, we have been importing our food supplies and have not thought that this will give us a problem. All the while, there isn’t a need for us to know how to farm. Shortage of land. Farming skills are not taught to the population through schools.

LEARNING ISSUES

1)      How do we stop food shortage from happening? (Alvis, Jayden, Benedict, Darryl)
2)      How can we improve by means of education? (Regis, Wei Ting, Natalie Tan, Hui Ting, Shi Hui)
3)      How do we establish friendships with other countries so that we can count on one another? (Zhi Qing, Jessie, Natalie, Nabilah, Sherlene)
4)      How do we teach people farming skills? (Ryan,Owen,Tevin,Nicholas,Marcel)
5)      How do we make full use of the empty plot of land? (Alton, Glenn, Jevon, Justin, Regan)
6)      Why don’t we use technology for farming? (Ivan, Ernest, Zheng Quan, Stanley)
7)      How many 2080 citizens are there to feed?(Isaiah, Jonathan, Jerron, Zi Yang, Ye Long)
8)   How can we make sure that the farms can last a long time?(Bryan, Chun Yuen, Max, Dong Wang)
