This motivation programme had motivated me to be determined and not to give up easily. Similarly, I conquered most of my fears through these activities I had tried. I am also proud of myself that I had completed all of the activities even though I had struggled a lot to complete them.
ReplyDeleteThis 'High Elements Progamme' has still really helped some of my friends like Conrad to conquer their fear of heights. Although I think he will still be afraid of heights, at least he still tried abseiling in the end. Activities like rock-climbing requires alot of hand strength and apparently I don't have enough. Overall I really enjoyed this progamme and i'm sure lots of my friends do too.
ReplyDeleteThe motivation programme had help me overcome my fear of heights.Even though I had to do all the activities, I did not give easily as I wanted to overcome my fear.Zipline was my favourite activity and I had fun doing it. The hardest activity was the CRC(challenge rope course). I had to struggle to complete the log stairs. Well, I did not give up easily and I finally, completed it.
ReplyDeleteAfter this motivation programme, I had overcome some of my fear and I had fun.
The 'High Elements' really help me overcome my fears especially the rock wall which I wanted give up but after hearing my friends encouraging me, I used up all my energy and kept on climbing till the top. Other than the rock wall, all the activity are quite easy. My favourite activity was the challenge rope course I struggle a little bit going up the log stairs, I still had fun.
ReplyDeleteThe programme help me to overcome my fears of height.I did all the activities. The hardest activity for me is the CRC(Challenge Rope Course), my hands and leg were too short so I could not go very high for the log stairs.I also learn not to give up easily.
ReplyDelete- Reflection -
ReplyDeleteThe High Elements program had put me to my limits. Even though I've done all those obstacles before outdoors, the High Elements program had different versions of the ones I did outdoors, the rock climbing was very tough and I could not finish it! >_<
When you swing down the flying fox( Very fun ), the time is shorter but it was fascinating. I waiting,I was thinking that why no one shouted things when they swing down ( Read this and comment why ) except for Isaiah who shouted " Maria!" but the wind tore away his voice so the "Maria" was barely audible .
As for the Challenge rope course, it was rather easy because the mini rock climbing board had obvious hand holds and foot holds ( To me ) and being the supporter, I had to grab his/her ankle to prevent them from hitting the ground ( when they decided to 放弃 ) . One of them was Sherlene ,very heavy,I think about 40kg, and I almost fell to the ground and injure myself again .
Finally, the Abseiling which was scary to many of my classmates when the instructor told them to lean down on the edge but was not scary to me as I done this before outdoors. I did not go for a second time because I was busy searching for Instructor Gordon for First-Aid .
So to summaries everything I've typed so far, The High Elements to me is to take another level higher than I had took, to take me beyond my limits.
P.S. This is the first time I did not make to the top of the rock climbing.
Owen how u know Sherlene 40 kg?
DeleteThis time round the High Elements was not too bad but I think I had underestimate the activities especially for the Rock Wall. First of all, I think i started well in the fist station which is the Zipline, it is quite easy so in my brain I thought oh maybe rest of the stations are also as easy as this but the worst part is when I was doing the Rock wall, I keep on targeting for the difficult one but when i go for the third time all my friends have gone to the canteen to have their lunch except me, Zi yang and Owen. They both head for the easy one but I was confident so I do the hard one again, hoping to try to reached the top, but I failed and then instructor keep on torturing me. When u want to go down u must say "falling" but the problem is that I keep saying "falling" but the instructor is like don't cared and she asked me to keep on trying. I have already push myself to the limit so I cannot keep on going. Finally, I must say "falling" 7 times so that I can go down. After that my hands and my legs are totally numb and Zi yang and Owen keep on laughing at me. Cannot take it! But I feel that rest of the stations are easy. I think that this programme have help me alot, and so do some of my friends.
ReplyDeleteThis "High Elements" motivational programme has help me conquer my fear of heights firstly and i think the Zipline is very fun and we came down at the third level and to be honest my legs were quite shaky when i jumped off the platform and the rock climbing was a challenge, i could not climb to the top and so is the Challenge rope course which i stopped at the third block after much encouragement and lastly abseiling it was pretty fun but scary at the same time and we get to see the teachers abseil but most importantly i learned not to give up easily
ReplyDeleteOn hearing that the High Elements programme was about Abseiling, Zip Line, Rock Climbing and Challenge Ropes Course, I was really scared. But I decided to go as it was a lifetime opportunity. The obstacle that gave me a really good impression was the Challenge Ropes Course. As I was trying to climb onto the rock wall, my legs kept trying to balance on the rocks. I wasn't sure I can do it so I decided to give up. The instructor refused to let me down and said that I could do it. With the encouragement from my teachers, instructor and friends, especially Mr Silan who was guiding me, I managed to complete the course. My hands and legs were really numb but I felt good as I did not give up easily. Without encouragement and lots of courage, I wouldn't have completed the course.
ReplyDeleteThe challenge rope course was the toughest for me as i had to struggle alot there. It was very irritating as many could do it easily but i could do it but i struggled and took more time.As for the zipline i was happy as it was very easy. The rock climbing took me beyond my limits like working harder during the rope challenge. The instuructor did not let me fall as i was almost to the top and wanted to give up.But with perservarence i made it to the top. This high aliments has increse my confindence level.I would reccomand this progrmme to the future cohords.
ReplyDeleteThe rock wall was the toughest one to me.After way through,i wanted to give up.i did not give up even though my hand was in pain.It was because of my friends encouragement.I have learnt that doing things things alone might be hard but must not give up because there is always a friend to encourage us.
ReplyDeleteI think that abseiling was the hardest among all the activities. Even though the instructor explained to us what we should do, i was still quite confused when i went down. The easiest actvity for me was the zipline because i did not have to do anything. I just had to hold on to a rope and holding on to a rope is not very difficult. At the rock wall, my hands were quite tired but i did not give up and i managed to reach the top so i have learnt to not give up easily.
ReplyDelete*lam*
DeleteI think the Rock Climbing is the most difficult of all the activities to me. When I started on the first rock which was small, I had already half given up and thought I will not be able to climb through the red line. With a little encouragement from my peers boasts up a little of my determination to keep on going. Therefore, I managed to go through at least the red line. My worries came when there were less rocks on top and there was a little hump. I tried going but I was at my limit and my strength was running out so I eventually give up.
ReplyDeleteLike everyone had said, Zip line was easy. You just had to hold on to the rope and enjoy the moments of flying. Next, was the abseiling. This activity requires us to make a L shape out of our body which is difficult because it is like making u sit in the air and jump down. When it was my turn, I began to be more nervous not because of the starting, it was the 4-storey height that I am scared of! I told myself everything was going to be alright and just sit back and enjoy and I really did.
Lastly, it was the CRC ( Challenge Rope Course ). When I saw the amazing height of where you are suppose to climb on the rock board, I was speechless. The instructor asked if any girls would like to go first and none of us would. So, she randomized and chose me. I was like how do I start? So, I climbed up the ladder which was easy and to the end of the ladder, I placed my leg on the loop and my hand to go up and continued till I am at the same height of the rock board. There was a gap which your leg needs to put out and my leg was a little short so I told myself to trust the people who are holding on to me so if I drop down, they will still be holding me. Therefore, I put out my leg and my hands reach out for the rocks above, and my left leg to the other. And yes, I competed to the rock board. I continued climbing side ways and was a little stuck at those small rocks again. I just managed to pass through and was happy to accomplished it.
From all this activities, I learned that we need encouragement from our friends to boast up our determination which will help us to compete the tasks. We must trust them that we would not fall even if we fall, they will hold on to us. Never give up till you are off your limits as you will regret that you never compete it. We must always think that there is always people who are supporting you, giving you the determination which you need to compete the necessary tasks.
I think this "High Elements" has teached me to keep trying and not to give up easily or I would fail in what I am doing. The hardest obstacle was the rock wall as halfway through , my fingers were pain because the rocks on the wall were small so I had to perservere to reach the top but in the end, I did not as the rocks were too small and I could not hold on to it.While the hardest is the rock wall, the easiest was the zipline because all I had to do was holding on to the rope and feeling the breeze. The obstacle that I liked the most was the challenge rope course where I had to climb up and climb on the shaking rock wall. From all these activities, I have learnt that we should not be afraid of obstacles that come in our way as there is always someone there to support us and help us overcome it.
ReplyDeleteI think the High Elements has helped me by teaching me to overcome my fears and not to give up easily in any activity or exam. We had to do the Abseline,Rock wall, Challenge Rope Course and the Zip line. I found the CRC[Challenge Rope Course] difficult as my foot kept slipping on the rocks and they were too small for me to grip on them and my hands were aching. Fortunately, I overcame it by holding on the wall and not the rocks and as a result my hand felt even more sore. The easiest challenge for me was the Abseline because I could just do nothing and wait for me to reach the ground and there will be no injuries or pain. Overall, I learnt that every obstacle can be overcame if I do not become an believe in myself and there is someone to support us if we give up.
ReplyDeleteIf I do not give up and believe
DeleteThe High Element activities has thought me to always do my best in anything I do.
ReplyDeleteThe first challenge we took was the Zipline. It was quite easy as all we had to do was to hold on the rope and enjoy the 5-second flying.
The next challenge was the Rock Wall.It was quite hard for me to climb up because some of the rocks were a little smaller than I thought it would be.Although I did not make it to the top like some of my friends did,I am proud that I had not given up quickly.
Then there was an activity called the Challenge Rope Course(CRC).It was the hardest challenge in all for me.We had to climb up and climb sideways across the smaller set of rock walls. There was a part that I needed to change my left feet to where my right feet was the transfer was hard and again,I almost felt like giving up but I did not and soon I had overcame it.
The last challenge is called the Abseiling. The scary part was when the instructor told me to lean backwards and trust him. When I could start going down the wall,it was not as scary as the start. This thought me to be determined and always have trust on people that is going to help me succeed something in life.
This High Elements Course had certainly thought me alot of things from not giving up whenever I face difficulties to helping and supporting others like our friends because success to me comesfrom endurance, struggle and determination to do something as long as we have the thought that we want to do it.
Although I didn't go for the High Elements, I did learn something that made me determined in swimming in the 1.6m pool.On Tuesday when my classmates went to the High Elements, I went to Sentosa, The Hard Rock Hotel, to swim. At First, I did not know how to swim, so my other grandfather taught me what moves there are. One is the tortoise style and the other was the Freestyle.I started to learn both but still could not swim properly. So, I decided to combine them together. The tortoise hand movements and the Freestyle leg movements, and guess what?
ReplyDeleteI could actually swim. Awesome right? My parents said that I was a fast learner and so am I. I learned to swim in just 2 days. Before I swam, I said that I would drown in the water if I anyhow swim in the water.
But HEY!!I knew it! I almost drowned in the water which is not so deep.(1.0m)
The High Element activities ( Zipline, Rock Climbing, Challenge Rope Course and Abseiling) has taught me about one of our star values, TEAMWORK. The only activity which made me feel very uncomfortable before trying is Abseiling as when the instructor were telling us about the movements to make when we were doing the activity, the instructor said that there was a part that was scary. I felt very scared that I might fell down from the 4th storey. I also learned that we should trust people that are helping us. ( Challenge Rope Course and Rock Climbing ). When we were climbing on the board sideways, we must trust the people who were holding on to the rope. If we do not believe them, we will not dare to go on to the next step.
ReplyDeleteThe total thing that I learn was teamwork and trusting people who will help us succeed something.
During the zipline which was the first station, i was afaid that i might fall when i was standing on the little stool and looking down. When going down i felt that it was safe and i need not worry.the one that i felt was the scariest was the abseiling. At the start, i was so scared that I cut my leg but I was afaid for the rest of it.For the challenge rope course, I made used of my height. As we only needed to touch the last log, i just reached my hand out and touched the log on the third last log while other people had to climb an extra log to the second last log to finish. For the rock climbing, I went fast at the first few parts but slowed down and came to a stop without touching the top. For the harder one, i reached the hard part but could not carry on.
ReplyDeleteI learned that we must put our trust in other peopleif we are doing something dangerous. If we do not do that, we might not even take the first step.
I had a great experience at the high elements and I learned that teamwork is important to finish obstacles and if I did not believe in myself, I would not have finished the obstacle. It has helped me to overcome my fears. The activity I enjoyed most was the rock climbing, but some of the rocks were to small for my leg to rest on and my leg would slip. I did not give up because my friends encouraged me as I reached the top.
ReplyDeleteIn the High Elements , it has taught me to face my fears or problems and conquer them.
ReplyDeleteFor the Zipline, I just needed the confidence to go down.
For the Rock Climbing, it was difficult for me. Some odds the rocks were too small for me, slipping multiple times. But i didn't gave up until my strength was used up.
For the CRC (Challenging Rope Course) , it was also the same problem for Rock Climbing the rocks were too small for me.
Lastly, the abseiling was the most hardest for me to conquer. It was actually the first step, where you have to squat, caused me problems. And then the rest was just making your way
down to the floor.
The high elements motivational program was great. It helped me conquer many fears that I had (height phobia and what not) I went with another class, which was great as I did not have to bear the noisiness of our class and hear less scolding. I made some new friends and got along well with the girls of the class I went with. The beating sun has also tanned my skin quite evenly and therefore, I can skip any sun-tanning ( :P ) . To summarize this, I have one sentence; The program was awesome
ReplyDelete-MISHA
Although i did not go for the High Elements, I heard from friends that it was fun and they had learnt not to give up so easily.I regret that I did not go the High Elements. I also heard that Glenn was the first boy to reach the top of the rock climbing and Shi Hui was the first girl who reached the top of the rock climbing.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the programs. Before the flying fox,I was very scared. I knew no matter how scared I was, I still had to conquer my fears. The longer I let my fears get the better of me, the more scared I will become. My legs were trembling when I was at the top. When I jumped off the stool, I really enjoyed it. The only scary part is when you have to jump. The rock wall was my favourite obstacle. I did it twice. Last year, the hockey team went to Hougang Primary School. I could not complete the rock wall but now, it was really easy. I learnt that no matter what, we should not give up but keep trying our best.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the high elements as it was so fun. I learned how to conquer my fears no matter what difficulties I faced. The four obstacles were challenging and I was lucky to have my friends around to cheer me on.It requires strength and I was not able to reach the top. Fortunately, my friends were there to comfort me and make me feel better. The next comes the abseiling. It requires bravery and trust to be able to lean back and abseil down the wall. The third comes the challenge rope course as the logs swing at the slightest bit of movement. The easiest one was the zip line as it was fun to be able to fly across the air. To be frank, I did not faced any difficult obstacles.
ReplyDeleteAnd I was happy that my friends could cheer me on when I was stuck at the rock wall but in the end, I still finish it.
