3. Dennis had 120 marbles more than Jean at first. After Dennis gave away 150 marbles, Jean had thrice as many marbles as Dennis. Find the number of marbles Dennis had at first?

4. Melvin had $240 more than Ramesh at first. After Melvin spent $260, Ramesh had twice as much money as Melvin. Find the amount of money Melvin had at first.

I like Ted the most. He helped to sve the trees from extinction and he was the only one who really wanted to help Once-Ler to plant the last tree seed. ~Ryan~

My favourite character is The Lorax. In the movie, he is really funny as he pulls his butt and he will take off and fly away. I like him as he speaks up for the trees.

If there were no trees on earth, it would be a wasteland.

Trees produce fresh oxygen through photosynthesis. If there were no trees, all animals, including us, will one day, use up all the oxygen and die.~Zheng Quan~

I like The Lorax as he was persistent in letting The Once-Ler know he was doing the wrong thing to kill the trees. It takes courage for one to do that.  I do not think I will do that as I am scared off getting reprimanded by The Once-Ler for interfering with his business. ~Alisha~

2. The number of sweets in Container X was 24 more than that in Container Y. When I removed 42 sweets fom Container X and placed them in Container Y, the number of sweets in Container Y became thrice that in Container X. Find the number of sweets in Container X at first.
